In 1987 it became feasible to build a seed conditioning plant on the farm. Grass seed is cleaned, bagged and stored at the facilities on the farm.
In addition to the Milk River family farming operation, there are a number of producers through out Alberta producing grass seed that is conditioned and marketed by Miller Seeds. Miller Seeds contracts grass seed production with larger marketing companies through out Canada and the United States. The association with production personnel from these companies has provided Miller Seeds with access to contemporary modern agronomic practices.
It has taken several years to evolve a management program that accommodates our sometimes-harsh Western Canadian climate and soil conditions to produce consistent yields and quality.
